Moving on to bigger and better things but always welcome back for a visit!
On the 22nd of September and the 16th of November, Year 12, Corrimal High School staff and family and community acknowledged and celebrated the final milestones marking 13 years of education. How do you describe a group of students who, over six years, have demonstrated outstanding leadership, continuously superb academia, unrivalled sportspersonship and game play, unbreakable mateship, unmatched community support and by far the best sense humour?
The 22nd of September showcased student involvement and achievements of their Higher School Certificate year, acknowledging student academic successes, such as Jordan Foster, Kye Chamberlain and Grace Podmore (Overall Academic Excellence), sporting prowess, such as Lachlan Manwarring, Jordan Murphy and Brad Meades (Sporting Achievements) and community service, such as Kaylan Bruton-Waite, Shahne Hocking and Oscar McFarlane (School and Community Service). Students looked back on the last six years with a video of review which became very emotional for those present and culminated in a confetti shower after a final roll call of students.
The 16th of November school formal allowed students and staff to celebrate the end of the HSC examination period at Panorama House. Students were taken to different locations throughout the afternoon for group and family photographs prior to arriving at Panorama House where students were able to enjoy excellent food and great music with those present. The Graduating Students of Year 12 2017 will be greatly missed but will go on to bigger and better things with students already being accepted to UOW for degrees in Education, Chemistry (Dean's Scholar), to name a few or apprenticeships and traineeships throughout the Illawarra.
