On the 1st August Corrimal High School butted heads with Woonona High for a second time at the 2nd Annual Cougar's Cup at Ziem's Park. With the sun out, it was a great day for all the parties involved. In the three matches of the day, two of our teams delivered smashing victories - the U14s Boys won at a solid 38-18, while the Open Girls demolished Woonona with a 44-8 victory. Unfortunately, the Open Boys couldn't secure a win with a devastating 46-14 loss, but they still put up a good fight.

Our Rugby League representatives demonstrated some excellent teamwork, skill, and athletic prowess. Their incredible efforts ended up winning us the Cougars Cup for a second year against some formidable opponents. Outstanding performances of the day included P Munro with (sportsperson of the match) who made many line break throughout the match, T Etherden showed outstanding speed with A Banfield and G Nimeti solid in defence and J Murphy with an outstanding intercept and field rush. All in all, an outstanding day made even better with our local community involvement!

Special thanks to Sportsperson of the match Cougars Cup partners D Adams (President CRLFC), L Potter and the PlayNRL team (referee, conveners and medical), coaches Mr Luskan, Mr Mulder and Mr Wellings, Competition Organiser Mr Foster and our amazing school and community spectators.
