Fox Studios Excursion...
In Week one of Term 2, the Year 7, 8 and 9 Enrichment classes were lucky enough to be audience members at the first ever taping on the new television show Little Big Shots. This program showcases the talent of Australian children – including everything from musical talents to sports skills to setting Guinness World Records! It was a long but incredibly entertaining day and the students were all exceptional audience members and very well behaved.
But what did the students have to say?
On Thursday the 27th of April, the Year 7, 8 and 9 Enrichment classes all went on a bus to Fox Studios in Sydney. We got to be in the audience for a new television show called Little Big Shots, which has no judges and no one gets eliminated, it just celebrates kids' amazing talents!
We got to see all the behind-the-scenes work that the crew does and many retakes. The taping of the show went for 4 hours, it will be then cut down to one hour on TV. My favourite part of this experience was watching one of the Little Big Shots Ewan achieve a Guinness World Record for the most consecutive jumps on a pogo stick with no hands; he got 1,235 jumps in about 10 minutes. It was a great excursion and I would love to go again!

On our excursion to watch the taping of Little Big Shots in Sydney, I enjoyed learning about the methods used to film TV shows and meeting some of the filming crew. I also highly enjoyed watching Ewan, an 11 year old pogo stick champion set a Guinness World record, as well as the amazing Bella who trained animals (including a lazy dog and tiny horse) to perform tricks.

A huge thank you to Ms Van Loo and Mr Wellings for their organisation and supervision of the excursion, the students really enjoyed the day and are very thankful for opportunities like this which they receive at Corrimal High School.
