School Swimming Carnival

The annual Corrimal High Swimming carnival was held last week. We had a record number of competitors who enjoyed the festivities of the day. Students dressed in their best "Hawaiian" outfits and got into the spirit of the day. As well as competitive races, students enjoyed 25m races, pool noodle races and kickboard challenges. Year 12 provided the social entertainment with lolly guessing competitions and the most popular event of the day which was the wet sponge throw at the teachers. Thanks to all the students for their wonderful behaviour and participation on the day. A big thanks to the staff who attended and did a terrific job. Looking forward to having a whole school carnival in 2017.

Student Helpers at our Community of Schools (COS)

A huge thanks to the Years 9, 10 and 11 student helpers from our PASS and SLR elective classes for officiating at our local COS swimming carnivals. They have done a wonderful job as timekeepers and have represented our school with respect and responsibility. Merit certificates will be presented in the coming weeks for these outstanding helpers.

Wednesday Sport

Term 1 Recreational Sport has commenced on a Wednesday afternoon. Year 7 are enjoying a sport program all to themselves, whilst Years 8-10 are off being active at numerous activities. It is fantastic to see our young people being active and enjoying the glorious weather. Any student who needs to change a sport must do so this week with Mr Majoor. Sport notes are due in now.

Knockouts/Regional Trials/Events

Students need to keep an ear out in the daily notices for the various sporting trials that are occurring. Girl's netball, girls' and boys' basketball, futsal and Rugby League are all in the trial phase for school teams. See Mrs Arthur for information.
