Phil Jarratt has worked in surf publishing and the surf industry for more than 40 years. Phil attended Corrimal High School from 1964 and 1969, he spoke at the school's 50th anniversary dinner in 2000.
Phil has covered business and politics as a journalist for such publications as the Sydney Morning Herald, The Bulletin and London's Daily Mail. He has also been the author or co-author of some 30 books. His biographies, Home: The Evonne Goolagong Story, (Simon & Schuster, 1993) and Mr Sunset (GPG, 1997) have won international acclaim, with the BBC adapting an award-winning documentary from Mr Sunset.
In 2010 his book Salts & Suits was shortlisted for the Blake Dawson Prize for Business Literature, and he has won the Surfing Australia surf culture award three times. In November 2012 he published a definitive history of Australian surfing, Surfing Australia.
